SARACENS WIN THE DOUBLE DOUBLE

In a titanic battle at Twickenham yesterday Saracens finally beat Exeter 37- 34 in a match that was keenly fought.

In the first half a Jack Norwell inspired Exeter led Saracens at the interval.  Saracens started slowly but showed in flashes their class.

In the second half the first 20 minutes were attritional with Exeter mounting a great defence and denying Saracens a score. The game looked over when Exeter broke out and increased their lead to 11 points.

Saracens were not to be denied. In the most amazing scenes they came back to overturn the deficit and to lead themselves by 11 points. Onr try being a sensational cross field kick from Farrell to a flying Williams to score in the corner.

Exeter were not finished and still came back to score again but the time ran out and Saracens were happy to win.

The club have now won the double double twice. Only one other club has done that before.  Next season Saracens can get better. The team is improving each year and with some young exciting players coming through it is hoped that this is just the beginning for the club.

We are proud in Mill Hill of these sporting champions. They win the right way and never give up, even when the cause looks hopeless.   We can all learn from these immense role models.
