Although we don't post much on the blog our Instagram Page which is private continues to have posts most days with offers and news for the Mill Hill area. It is the biggest private group in the area and most businesses and locals are followers, Well over 2,000 now read the news daily on the site.
The last 12 months have proved to be difficult for Mill Hill businesses and especially the pubs and restaurants. The massive tax rises by both the Labout government on individuals and the hospitality industry have led to big price rises and sadly several going out of business.
The services from Barnet Council have suffered from a huge influx of Migrants into Colindale, Burnt Oak and Edgware which has meant higher than inflation rises and a cut in most services.
The Shoppping Units at Mill Hill Broadway are still doing better than most High Streets with demand up until this year still being steady. However, there are still several units that are empty and some that are not trading.

We know there are some businesses wanting to move onto the Broadway if the right unit becomes available. Most are now in the Beauty - Medical area because of the high turnover required to cover rents and rates.
We urge locals to support the restaurants and cafes on the Broadway and the shops that still exist. Unless they are supported then they will disappear and more Nail Bars - Barbers etc will descend on the area which is what is happening all over the UK. It would be great to keep Mill Hill as a going out destination with some shops for retail.
Mill Hill Traders want to highlight the few remaining outlets on the Broadway doing retail in their publicity in 2026 and to support Mill Hill's 3 Pubs - The Railway on Hale Lane - Adam and Eve and The Three Hammers on The Ridgeway.
