Neighbourhood Forum application withdrawn

Stop press :. Barnet Council has advised the new Mill Hill Neighbourhood Forum to withdraw its current application in order to work with a third party Organisation.  The council.stated their aim.in 2.14 of the documents published this week.

This is very disappointing to the large number of businesses and residents who support this application.
However, with the revised application being amended to meet the new requirements we hope Barnet Council will finally allow the Neighbourhood Plan to be written.

Every day without this non political organisation is a day when the area is not protected.

In the consultation 🌟

☀️Supporting the Forum were :
Saracens
Nw7Hub
Mill Hill Families
Broadway Social Media Sites (areas largest/oldest)
Historic England
Mill Hill Preservation Society
Mill Hill Traders
Mill Hill Residents Association
Mill Hill East Church
And many more residents, faith groups and individuals

👎Against the Forum were the Political Elite of the Tory/LibDem coalition !!!! :

Some Tory Councillors Inc Val Duchinsky
Lib Dem representatives
Inside Mill Hill ( run by Lib Dem group and largest Facebook Group in area)
A Better Mill Hill ( run by Lib Dem group)
Chair of Frith Manor School Governors and member of Lib Dem group.
A few residents who oppose everything in the area and no businesses - most of which are LibDem activists.

Despite 99% of the area wanting the Forum. Once again the 1% of the entitled, elite, white Political class have tried to block the multi faith, and multi racial, Organisation and faith support for the forum. Totally sad to oppose without any practical suggestions.  It read like a nasty set of white supremacists ranting against anyone they disagreed with politically.

As a local Jamaican resident and Local Shop Manager said " I am totally appalled by the racist attitudes of a political elite who use the device of gobbledygook and constitutional process to block ordinary people of all races and faiths.  It happens every day and the Tory/Liberal co-alition is reminiscent of the Cameron/Clegg devastation of local services and which has sent millions to food banks.  If Barnet Council is truly diverse then they need to back this local Forum who genuinely care about the area. "

We believe the local Tory Group may have vested interests with developers in order to build as much as possible. A Neighbourhood Plan run by the people is a threat to their hegemony.   It seems the Local Lib Dems once again are anti business in the area, having attacked local Muslim businesses and several chain stores in recent years. The two are strange bedfellows but history shows that when they work together it has a negative effect on ordinary people.

The area needs to embrace black lives matters.

Our News sites want to see Black and Muslim candidates stand for all main political parties at the next council elections.  The Slave Trade was ended by Wilberforce from his home in mill hill and it is a tragedy that we don't have a representative council of the fantastic diversity in our area.

We hope the new forum does invite more black and Muslim committee members to show the white political elite that our area has amazing talent outside of their Islington style elite who have strangled the political structures of our country in the last 20 years and made all communities toxic.

Well done Barnet Council on persuading the Forum to redesign their offering.  We hope that they will listen and come back even stronger.

Contact the Mill Hill Neighbourhood Forum and offer to be on their committee if you care about the area.
