We had problems where on Twitter a group of local Political Activists made racist and threatening comments to several of our writing and editorial team. After taking Police advice we decided to reformulate the newspaper and remove our Twitter account.
Therefore Mill Hill Today will launch with no social media accounts in August - because the safety of our writers and editorial is paramount.
We are also changing our advertising which has been handled by Mill Hill Neighbourhood forum for the last 2 years. A new advertising agency has been taken on to carry the advertising and if you wish to have adverts ( There are fewer ad pages in the new version ) then please email us for details at info@millhillbroadway.co.uk
We are really happy that all our writers have agreed to carry on and we also have some new contributors as well. However, the news section which we contributed to alongside the Neighbourhood Forum will now be run by the Mill Hill Residents who have kindly offered to provide the news coverage for the area. They promise a hard hitting approach with plenty of news and local views ! We will however, carry all the local planning information as usual and news from Barnet Council.
Thank you to everyone who got in touch and told us how much you enjoyed the news each month. There have been over 2 million page views in the three years we have been published. There will be other changes which you will be able to see when we publish the first 20 page edition next Thursday.
Sadly we cant take any features written by local residents anymore due to lack of space - but if you wish to join the writing team in order to write regularly for us then that is fantastic.
Press releases : If your company or organisation wants to let us know any news or events then please send your press releases to info@millhillbroadway.co.uk as early as possible for the following month's publication. Space will be at a premium. We will be having a small PRINT ISSUE of the newspaper starting in the future which will be delivered to public places like dental surgeries - hairdressers - doctors - and some copies available on the Broadway.
Sections that will continue include : Local News - Arts - Property - Services - Sports. Our regular features return as well. Advertising is now limited.
The Mill Hill Guide advertising rate card will be out in August as well ready for a NOVEMBER 1st PUBLICATION for 2020. FULL PAGE ADVERTS start at £190 and 1/8 PAGE ADVERTS at just £25 but space is extremely limited and much is already booked. Again contact us for the AGENCY CONTACTS for the advertising at info@millhillbroadway.co.uk
We want to thank JOHN GILLETT for all his incredible support in getting both publications for the area established over the last 5 years. Without his help and hard work this would have been impossible. The area now has an ANNUAL GUIDE which is read by the whole community and visited by thousands online. The Newspaper has been a source of the best factual information and the organisations who have written regularly have seen sell out events in the last 12 months and record attendances at their events. This is genuine community. No one involved has any business to promote or empire to build. Most of those involved remain anonymous because they are doing it for the community not to build their egos !!!
Enjoy the hot weather.
