First Day Success for Italian Market | photos part 2

The debut of the Italian Market today started quietly but by lunchtime shoppers were out in force and the cafes were full.

We sampled the fantastic food on offer and it really is excellent and keenly priced.

Tomorrow come down from 9 a.m and enjoy getting the best selection of Olive Oil ever seen in this area, amazing cakes, and a massive selection of cheese. There is also wine tasting at Mill Hill Wines with a large selection on offer.

This is the last market day until October. So please come down and support all the traders and cafes. See the crowds in the first photo taken at 4pm today.

  1. A real shame that it had closed at 6pm.. Why didn't is stay open like the world market to get the evening trade.

  3. Totally agree Steven. I spoke to the Market this morning and explained that many people enjoyed the World Market going on until 7 but they had already decided the early closing time because they were not aware that the Broadway is busier between 5 and 7p.m on Fridays. I believe the plan in future will be that all the Friday markets will open at 10ish and finish at 7p.m in order to cater for everyone who works in London and misses the Friday if they close early. In fact they closed at 4.30p.m today. I will pass your comments on to Vibe Market tomorrow. The market is open tomorrow from 9 until 5p.m and will have 4 more stalls than today - because there were power problems because at present we have no street power supplies.
