Today has seen the busiest ever day on Mill Hill Broadway as thousands of Saracens fans mingled with thousands of local shoppers and visitors from all over the UK as the French Market drew to its conclusion at 5p.m tonight.
Starting the day Saracens held photo sessions with the European Rugby Trophy outside Iceland for everyone and hundreds took advantage of their generosity. See another article for the Cup photos.
Since late morning the pavements have been packed with shoppers and the cafes packed as well. Saracens went on to beat Leicester 44 - 17 down the road at Allianz Park and thousands of fans have once more descended on the market in celebratory mood.
Many residents and shopkeepers are saying that they would love this every week. Organisers promise that they will hold the markets regularly but they are likely to be monthly or bi-monthly because of the massive amount of work involved by volunteers in order to organise them. If you have comments on the market then head over to the Mill Hill Neighbourhood Forum page on Facebook and like the page and make a comment.
Here are our Saturday photos - please share and remember the next market is a WORLD VILLAGE MARKET on June 10 June 11 and June 12 again on the Broadway and with a Music Stage on the opposite side of the road where the proposed pocket park will be created.
