French Market returns to Mill Hill in May
We are very excited to be able to bring you this breaking news about Mill Hill Broadway. In November thousands braved some questionable weather to enjoy the incredible French Market brought to the Broadway in a partnership by Vibe Market and Mill Hill Neighbourhood Forum.
We can exclusively tell you that this is the first of several markets which will be coming to Broadway in 2016. Already confirmed are an Italian Market in July and further French and Christmas Markets later in the year see below for more information. The organisers also hope to be able to announce further World markets and some will have crafts stalls and even a Music Stage !
This is an incredible step forward for our Town Centre. We are asking all residents to spread the word and repost this article on their FACEBOOK PAGES - TWITTER ACCOUNTS - TUMBLR and BLOGGER accounts. As well as that tell your friends and then once these markets become successful it will probably lead to a monthly event. All the shops and restaurants on the Broadway benefit from having increased footfall from the extra visitors such events bring.
We asked the Mill Hill Markets organisers to tell us what to expect in May and this is what they told us :
"On Friday 20 and Saturday 21 May, Mill Hill town centre will again get a taste of France. The “France at Home” market from Normandy will be visiting Mill Hill Broadway, with a selection of delicious foods and quality gifts, fashion accessories and home wares both days from 9am to 5pm.

The market will be located outside Santander bank, and continue up to Mill Hill Wines.
The French Market is part of a calendar of visiting markets for Mill Hill, an initiative organised by Mill Hill Neighbourhood Forum and Vibe Market. The markets aim to increase dwell time and footfall for the town centre, and add vibrancy to the high street.
Future Plans : Mill Hill will be hosting a mini summer festival alongside a World Village Market, celebrating the Queens 90th birthday in June, an Italian Market in July, and the French Market will return in November. Plans are also underway for Christmas festivities in the town centre.
John Gillett, chair of Mill Hill Neighbourhood Forum, said: “This is just one of the many initiatives we have for Mill Hill, to improve our Town Centre – do come along and also let us have your ideas for developing Mill Hill.”
Osita Udenson, managing director for Vibe Market, said: “We are excited to bring the French Market to Mill Hill. As a visiting market, its specialist products will complement the existing offer on the High Street. We look forward to seeing a bit of Normandy in Mill Hill this May and November.”
Three hours of free parking are available on Saturdays in the Bunns Lane car park and most side streets are free from 12 noon. "
