THE PLAN FOR THE POCKET PARK | Mill Hill Broadway Town Centre Get Involved

The "POCKET PARK" is a fantastic idea which has been put forward by the Mill Hill Neighbourhood Forum. The plan is to take some land/road next to Boots and Howard Bros in the centre of the Broadway and create an area for people to sit and for events to take place.  It will be "greened" unlike this side of the Broadway which has no trees or plants anymore.

There is no time scale yet for the work to commence but with the grant from Tesco Bags of Help scheme which will be between £8 & £12 thousand pounds and cash/input from Barnet Council it is looking as if it may be created this year.

If you are a local business who wants to get involved by sponsoring benches or greenery to help make this a reality please can you contact the Mill Hill Neighbourhood Forum ( Their link is on the right).  Everyone wants to see quality seating and greenery so that this area is lovely to sit in all times of year.  Obviously there may be worries that it may provide a meeting area for unsocial activity but with the current CCTV and PCSOs on Broadway then this is not really an issue.

Here are the plans :
