OK - so after teasing you all with this subject let me start by telling you a bit about the links between Doctor Who and Mill Hill.

Mill Hill has a very famous school on the hill and one of its most famous ex pupils is a Doctor Who - Patrick Troughton. The school has remembered him by naming their theatre after him :

“In March 140 guests turned up to enjoy an evening of drama to celebrate the naming of the Patrick Troughton Theatre. GCSE and A Level pupils presented a variety of exam and audition pieces, a fitting tribute to Patrick Troughton who was one of the finest actors to have been produced by Mill Hill School. It was particularly appropriate, that Troughton’s grandson Harry Melling, better known to filmgoers as Dudley Dursley of Harry Potter fame, was one of the performers.A reception was held in The Favell Building where guests were able to seethe Dr Who and Troughton memorabilia that will be displayed in the newly extended theatre cafĂ©. A surprise guest on the evening was a Dalek, perhaps the Doctor’s most famous adversary!” (Mill Hill School Newsletter Summer 2007 )

It is also worth noting that Mill Hill's current King of the Blogs at Barnet Eye has a healthy obsession with Doctor Who :

“If Doctor Who landed on my doorstep and I could borrow his Tardis for half an hour, I'd like to think I'd nip back to Mill Hill Broadway in 1969 and get myself a hot chocolate and Cream Meringue and get one for the boy as well. Mind you, I'd better make sure I didn't go back on a Thursday afternoon as that was early closing day and they'd be shut.” (Roger T Barnet Eye 23 Feb 2010 )

and finally if you go on the Northern Line past the Police Training College I suggest you look out of the train window into the car park and you will see The Tardis ! honestly !!!
